Strength deployment Inventory – Portrait of Personal Strength/Portrait of Overdone Strengths

Our Personal Strengths typically align with our Motivational Values System. This tool helps individuals to articulate what they feel are strengths that come naturally to them, those traits that are a little more difficult to exhibit and finally those that feel very unnatural to us that we find difficult to exhibit.

We also know that strengths, when overused in frequency, duration, intensity or out of context can be perceived by others as weaknesses. The Portrait of Personal Strengths and Overdone Strengths gives us insights into how others may be perceiving us and how this may impact relationship and contribute to conflict.

The assumption is that you are already comfortable with presenting, and/or have taken Leadership Development Level 1, Day 3, as such, this half day workshop will hone existing presentation skills with explicit peer and instructor feedback. You will also be provided with the unique opportunity to hone your “spontaneous” presentation skills which is an often neglected presentation concept.

As part of the workshop, you will be provided with a pre-work package a minimum of one week prior to the face to face session. The task assigned in the pre-work is to build a 5 minute presentation which you will deliver during the workshop. You will be required to submit an outline of your presentation and any supporting handout materials to your facilitator by a specified date.

The workshop will commence with each participant giving their presentations. These presentations will be videotaped for future reference and review. You will receive specific and targeted feedback on your platform skills, your presentation format and your accompanying visual support. This will help to solidify your personal learning.

Once you have been given feedback and we have covered content on how to make the best presentations for your audience, you will be responsible for preparing an impromptu presentation that will be delivered to a specific audience. The goal of this presentation will be to incorporate “lessons learned” from the first presentation and translate that into a masterful presentation in a potentially high pressure situation.

Employee Engagement

Employee Engagement

Employee Engagement

An engaged employee is a person who is fully involved in, and enthusiastic about his or her work. They also care about the future of the company and are willing to invest the discretionary effort to see the organization succeeds. It is a proven fact that organizations with engaged employees are more productive and more profitable.

A compelling question is this: “How much more productive is an engaged workforce compared to a non-engaged workforce?” There are a number of aspects that make up engagement including motivation, organizational structure and leadership.

In this day and age where employees seemingly will “jump ship” for the smallest pay increase, employee engagement has never been more important. Understanding what engagement is, what components make employees engage and understanding our potential for impact in this area is crucial. Engaged employees don’t leave for an additional dollar per hour, they are committed rationally and emotionally to their organizations. These engaged employees are the organizations best advocates because they share their enthusiasm with others. This module will explore these topics breaking down the components of engagement and highlighting how team leaders and managers can have a direct impact on the level of engagement their employees have.

Coaching Out Of The Box

Coaching Out Of The Box

What makes us Out of the Box?

We keep it simple

All of our programs and products are designed to keep the learning simple and clean. No jargon or complex models. Instead we tap into participant’s natural way of being and share resources and learning to compliment what they are doing and who they are naturally. We hear over and over again from participants that they “finally get it” and how eager they are to use it.

We have FUN and make it engaging

We believe that people learn from doing. That’s why all of our programs and resources engage participants in trying and experimenting with the new things they are learning. We provide easy-to-understand overviews and concept introductions but then we roll up our sleeves and dive into doing it. And all the while we have FUN. Yes, that’s right – F-U-N!

We are experts in coaching

The developers of our programs and products are pioneers and global leaders in the industry of professional coaching. They have been on the cutting edge of the coaching profession since its inception. They have taught executive coaching in major universities and largely contributed to the development of the coaching industry standards and competencies on every continent in the world. We know what works and we know how to deliver it.

We have a mission

Coaching Out of the Box® was born from one big question. “What if EVERYONE had coaching skills?” As experts in coaching, we were well aware of the power of good coaching. Over the years we have witnessed incredible transformation in individuals on up to entire organizations that had adopted a coaching culture. We have watched coaching grow from a few dedicated coaches in North America to a global sensation that continues to grow each year in numbers that were incomprehensible ten years ago! Our Core Team has always been passionate about coaching and each one has played a role in taking it to where it is today. But now we’re playing bigger. We’re taking coaching mainstream! Our mission is to see that EVERYONE has some level of coaching skills. From the CEO to the 3rd grade teacher. The butcher, the baker and the software maker! There isn’t ANYONE who couldn’t benefit immensely from learning the basics in coaching skills and see their own transformational results in their own world.

We see it like this

When people learn coaching skills they also learn how to truly listen to one another and hear things that bring whole new perspectives, ideas and new ways of collaborating.

When people learn coaching skills they also learn to be curious, ask questions and be a student of others and their surroundings.

When people learn coaching skills they learn how to truly support others.

Imagine what could happen if EVERYONE knew this?

We’re doing more than imagining. We’re making it happen!

Inspiring Possibility

Inspiring Possibility

Can you imagine a life filled with people who always put forth their best? Who, even in tough times and through difficult situations, neither close their minds to possibility nor project negative attitudes. Envision how positive and productive your personal and professional worlds would be if you could bring out the best in yourself and every person you interacted with. All this is possible if we focus on possibilities rather being drawn in to the “downward spiral” of fear, doubt and negative attitude.

Through discussion, activities and examination of the video: Leadership: An Art of Possibility, we will realize how by starting with ourselves, and embracing the power of possibility, we can begin to inspire this vision in others motivating them to be the best they can be.
